Privacy policy.
Short version: we collect the minimum we need to run the service, we don't sell anything to anyone, and we don't use third-party tracking cookies.
1. Who this covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Fantom Research ("Fantom", "we") handles personal information when you visit the Service, join the waitlist, or subscribe. The Service means the website at fantom-research.vercel.app and related subdomains, pages, and features.
2. What we collect
Waitlist. When you join the waitlist, we store your email address and the tier you selected ("Pro", "Research", or "Not sure"). That's it.
Account and subscription (when available). If and when paid tiers go live, we will also store an account identifier, your subscription status, and billing-provider references needed to process payments. We never see or store your full card number — payments are handled by our payment processor.
Analytics. If we enable analytics (for example Plausible or a comparable privacy-first provider), we collect aggregate, anonymized usage data — page URL, referrer, country-level location, screen size, and the user agent — to understand which content people read. Our analytics provider does not set cookies, does not fingerprint devices, and does not share data with third parties. We never load Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any ad-network tracker.
Email you send us. If you email us, we keep the message so we can reply and keep context on past conversations.
3. What we don't collect
- No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, no cross-site identifiers.
- No third-party ad networks and no behavioral advertising.
- No sale of personal information to anyone.
- No persistent fingerprinting.
- No access to your brokerage account, holdings, or any financial account.
4. How we use what we collect
We use your email to send you the updates you asked for (launch notice, product news if you opted in) and to answer questions you send us. We use aggregate analytics to decide what to build next. We use subscription data to run the subscription. We do not use any of it for advertising.
5. Legal basis (EU/UK readers)
If you are in the EU, UK, or another GDPR-equivalent jurisdiction, our legal bases are: consent for the waitlist and any marketing email; contract for providing a paid subscription; and legitimate interests for site security and privacy-preserving aggregate analytics. You can withdraw consent at any time.
6. How we store it
Waitlist and account data are stored with a reputable hosting provider in encrypted, access-controlled databases. We keep the data as long as needed to run the Service and to meet legal obligations. If you unsubscribe or delete your account, we remove or anonymize your record within thirty days except where the law requires us to retain it (for example, billing records for tax purposes).
7. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the Service — the hosting provider, the email delivery provider, the analytics provider (if any), and the payment processor (if any) — and only to the extent they need it to do their job. We require them, by contract, to handle it at least as carefully as we do. We also disclose information if the law requires it, if a court orders it, or if we need to protect our rights, our users, or the public.
We do not sell personal information, and we have not sold personal information in the past twelve months.
8. International transfers
Our servers and some service providers are in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the US and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your information (subject to legal retention);
- export a copy of your information in a portable format;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent;
- unsubscribe from any marketing email with one click.
To exercise any of these, email hello@fantom.research. We respond within thirty days.
10. EU/UK and California addendum
EU/UK (GDPR). You can lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our EU representative, where required, will be named in a future update of this policy.
California (CCPA / CPRA). California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to request correction, to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do neither), and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. We treat all users the same regardless of jurisdiction.
11. Security
We use TLS everywhere, encrypted storage, access controls, and least-privilege provisioning. No system is perfectly secure. If we ever learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires and as fast as we reasonably can.
12. Retention
Waitlist entries are retained until you unsubscribe or until the waitlist is retired, whichever comes first. Account and subscription records are retained for the life of the account plus the minimum period required by law. Analytics data is aggregated and does not personally identify you.
13. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. We will post the revised version with a new effective date; material changes will be announced on the site. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the revised policy.
15. Contact
Privacy questions, requests, or complaints go to hello@fantom.research.
